Originally friends from Peterborough called Ophiuchus, they changed to Graph when Nik Allday joined. He left the group near the end of 1979 and was replaced by Pam Young. The group then became Salon Graph, with Rod Siddal on drums.
Graph's track "Drowning" appeared on Earcom 1, the influential 1979 Fast Records compilation alongside the Prats, Flowers and Blank Students. In 1980, Graph's three core members reunited as The Musical Janeens (And Other Party Games), returning to their experimental/improvised approach.
Burden eventually became involved with fellow Sheffield group the Human League. Elliot released singles "Fake All Your Dreams" and "Again I Lift You To My Heart Again" on local Office Box Records. Both featured Terry Todd on bass and Nort on drums. He later formed Me and my Spaceman (later Luger Padre) with Jim O'Shea, Steve Wright and Nick Robinson.
Rootes went on to play with the Wealthy Texans and later became involved in computer graphics and electronic music. .
