Jimi played Sheffield only twice, at the Mojo Club and the City Hall. Billed at the Mojo (08/01/1967) as “Jimmy Hendricks” they were famously raided by the fire brigade, looking for drugs. Jimi sat there with a massive spliff in his hand and said “no drugs here man”, and off they went.
He also played the City Hall (17/11/1967) as part of an amazing tour featuring the Nice, Pink Floyd, Amen Corner and the Move
