“Rod Stewart on his first visit was left on the station wet and cold until someone picked him up. I was a drummer with the warm up band who had a few names which changed each time the inland revenue chased us. I think we could have been the Citizens or maybe the Male Set. When he came in the ” dressing room” he looked at the fire which had a couple of pieces of coal glowing and was not impressed. We still have his autograph, and the memory.”
“We were there when the Hollies played too. Such an impressive and professional outfit they were. Also have fond memories of the Blue Moon club , with Long John Baldry, July Driscoll and Rod, again.”
Rod played the Mojo club three times in 1965, with the Soul Agents (featuring the amazing Don Shinn on organ). He went on to play here many times, the last being Bramall Lane Stadium on 15/06/2019
