4–6 Lady’s Bridge, then 125 The Moor

The company was a large musical instrument and sheet music retailer with branches across northern England, including Sheffield. They traded under the slogan:

“Everything for the Music Lover”

The Lady’s Bridge premises were in the old commercial area beside the River Don, near the Wicker and Castle Market area. The Royal Exchange Buildings were demolished during city-centre redevelopment in the 1960s. The company sold pianos, organs, sheet music, records and musical instruments, and by 1973 the Sheffield shop at 125 The Moor was being advertised primarily as a piano and organ dealer
