Sound Idea was a long-established independent music shop on Langsett Road in Hillsborough. The shop featured:
It was open during the 1990s and 2000s, offering a more personal alternative to the larger Sheffield stores, but has since closed. The original directors and equal shareholders were: Andrew McKenzie & Richard Edwin Erickson. The company remained under their control until it was struck off in 2011.
Richard “Rick” Erickson was the guitar specialist and face of the shop, buying and selling guitars and carrying out repairs. McKenzie appears to have handled the business side. Their Facebook page is still accessible!
